This page will guide you through all aspects of our human settlement design course EDE and our Permaculture Designers Course.

Andes Consulting has gotten the United Nations Decade for Education and Sustainable Development UNDESD stemple and the Gaia Education Certification for our EDE courses. We have about 20 years of experience in teaching Permaculture Designers Courses both in Bolivia and other countries.

In order to become an ecovillage designer, you must cover the 1 month course and its 4 week modules. For info about the Permaculture Designers Courses, please see the PDC link on the side of our page.

The course is divided into 4 modules:

What kind of course is an EDE?

Ecovillage Design Course is:

• A course where a thorough and objective assessment of the state of the planet is followed by regional, community, and place-based solutions.
• An education that empowers individuals and communities with the knowledge for shaping their worlds and becoming more self-reliant while engaging in bioregional as well as international cooperation.
• A course that is universal in scope but local in application, directed toward preserving precious cultural diversity.
• A course where investigating theory is followed by practical application.
• A course that imparts useful and instrumental life-skills as part of the curriculum..A course relevant to people in rural and urban regions.
• A course promoting and facilitating healthful planetary evolution, as well as the well-being and quality of life of individuals and their communities everywhere.
• A course exploring and expanding the perceived limits of human potential.
• A course that informs, enables and inspires community-based visions of a sustainable human civilization as well as the means to turn such visions into reality during the course of the 21st century.
• Andes Consulting in cooperation with our international teacher staff, will hold both the EDE and the PDC courses both in Norway and in Bolivia
  
• The courses will take place on different ecological farms, an examples of self sustainability and conscious design. Come and take part of this adventure.
